The Long Road to Book Six

When you work patrol, there’s downtime between calls. If you’re lucky, you get a few quiet moments—enough to jot down a few chapters, outline a scene, or chase an idea before the next radio call crackles to life.
That’s how I started writing the B. Angelo Mysteries. A few pages here, a few paragraphs there, tucked into the spaces between the chaos.
I was promoted to detective in 2007, and everything changed.
At the time, the first four B. Angelo Mysteries had been published by a small press, and I was preparing to sign the contract for Book Five.
But life got busy. Time slipped past. Things happened. Since my contracts had expired on the original four books, I decided to republish second editions myself through KDP. I finally released Book Five in 2009.
In 2011, I started what would eventually become Book Six.
I managed to get through the first few chapters, and then real life took over.
Between the long shifts and the endless flow of new cases. There was never enough time or energy left for writing.
Book Six sat waiting, unfinished for years. Time flies.
But even when the pages were packed away, B. Angelo was never far from my mind.
She waited.
And now, finally, it’s her time again.
Book Six is coming in November 2025.
Book Seven is already finished and currently in the clean-up phase—it should be out in November 2026.
It’s been a long road to get here, but if you know B. Angelo, you know she’s never been one to give up.
Neither am I.
